Friends Of Hospice Hold ‘Memorial Moon Walk’
Friends of Hospice said they were “delighted” with the support of the community for the second annual Memorial Moon Walk, with over 200 people — with family members, children, adults and even pets — participating in the moonlit walk along south shore from Chaplin Bay to Horseshoe Bay.
Friends of Hospice volunteer and organise Nicky Gurret said, “It was lovely to see so many people coming out to remember their loved ones, support Agape House and enjoy a walk in the moonlight.”
The organisers said the moon did not disappoint and from the start it was visible above the clouds in the sky. It seemed especially large on the return from Horseshoe Bay where it rose higher in the sky and lit up the ocean waves lapping up the beach.
At the start and end of the walk was a musical performance bagpipes and drums to remember loved ones who had passed away. Next month Friends of Hospice will hold their third “Hearts Hats and High Tea” at the Fairmont Southampton Windows on the Sound.
Thank you Friends of Hospice for organizing a beautiful event.
